As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, medical school graduations are either being canceled or being planned virtually. Globally, medical students in the class of 2020 are graduating early to join others on the frontlines in service to their communities, as newly donned physicians during a pandemic which cast them out of the hospital initially. In light of the new normal of social distancing, quarantine and in a time of isolation, we want to stand in solidarity with the Class of 2020. We want to celebrate and stand united as we welcome them into the art and the craft of medicine by reciting our sacred vow of service.#HippOath

The Hippocratic Oath is a rite of passage for medical students as they progress into training and no matter the version, the pledge, or even the controversy, the essence of the Oath is central to the ideals with which physicians enter into their craft. It reminds us and declares, we are all part of something infinitely greater, older and more important than any specific specialty or institution. Often, at the end of graduation, we recite the Oath; with our teachers, mentors  fellow students, we are charged with a great responsibility towards our patients, community, colleagues, and those who teach us. Taking the Oath is a  milestone in every student's transition into a new physician’s life and career

Students4COVID invite the medical student Class of 2020, their faculty, and all physicians around the world to join us in a unity celebration to recite the sacred Hippocratic Oath together as ONE community of physicians and surgeons, in all languages, in unison.

Please invite one and all, and save the date:

April 27, 2020 at 12 PM GMT

We will all stand united, globally to celebrate and take the sacred #HippOath together as one!

This event will be held on Zoom and live-streamed on Facebook!

***Please note this is not a graduation ceremony, but a #GlobalUnityCelebration4Class2020 and welcoming of this young generation of new physicians. #HippOath
